It was very clean, well set up with ensuite and laundry.loved the fullsize kitchen and pool area.daughters reallyenjoyed eating on the patio overlooking the tidal creek-saw so many fish and sea life from our patio-husband was itching to fish.wouldlove to come again
Just one little thing-maybe a doona on the beds or a few extra blankets in the wardrobes for the cooler nights.
Modern well designed room. Clean and comfortable.
Only complaint is lack of adeqate kitchen utensils in our unit. Nit picking I know, but for such a lovely modern apartment the kitchen was stocked with a mish mash of eqipment.Looked like it come from the op shop. We made do though and had laugh.
Comfortable rooms that were new and good value
I recently stayed at the Holborn Apartment Hotel in Townsville for a week and at around $130/night for a an aprtment, it was great value. The apartment complex is quite new and construction of presumably another apartment complex is scheduled on the adjacent block of land. This may be an isssue if you take a hotel room as these face directly onto the adjacent block however, if you take an apartment it should be fine as these south towards the river. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment and it was clean and comfortable with all the mod coms I need. The balcony off the lounge area is generous in size and great for dining. The kitchen is fully equiped with a stove, cooking elements, full sized fridge, pantry and cupboards including crokery and cutlery. Lounge area is comfortable and has a cheap LCD TV as well as a DVD player. Bedroom is fine but directly adjacent to public passageway, which includes access into apartments/hotel rooms and all of the associated noise. Bathroom includes shower, toilet and handbasin and has plenty of room/space for one or two people.
1. Reception is open between 7.30am and 6pm. You need your swipe card to get in outside these hours, which is not a problem for most but if ur looking a 24hr reception this not the place for you. 2. Apartments are not cleaned during your stay. The apartments are nice and clean when you arrive but if you mess it up during stay you will need to clean it up yourself. 3. Noise carries throughout the entire complex and attempts to minimise noise are almost non-existent. Apartment/Hotel room doors slam shut with a loud bang and will wake most people in nearby rooms/apartments due to poor acoustic attenuation along the public passageway and because the room s are poorly sealed against noise. Also noise from the nearby trains/railways carries across the southern creek/river directly into the apartments.
The nice roomy apartments and facilities.
It was a great central location, brand new developement and will be a fantastic spot when the V8's are on.
The lounge chair was too modern and uncomfortable to sit on for sustained periods.
Good location and very new neat rooms.
No real blankets supplied... a bit chilly.
It was a very nice and like a boutique hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. We would stay again at Q Resorts anytime that we will be in Townsville.
Cleanliness and privacy
After we complained about how horrible our room was and were told there were no refunds for online bookings (lame), they upgraded us from a "hotel room" to a 2 bedroom apartment, which was very nice. The 1 and 2-bedroom apartments are nice.
The "hotel room" is freaking ridiculously horrible. The room contains a bed, bedside table, and closet--that is all! The Booked.net description of a "kitchenette" is completely false. There are no chairs (no room for chairs), but you wouldn't want to spend time hanging out in the room anyways because there are essentially no windows. The only window is about 1 foot tall and so high up that it is impossible to open the blind (since there are no chairs). Also, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere essentially...long walks to anything if you don't have a car.
It was very new and spacious.
The lounge for watching television was very uncomfortable.
Had a fantastic deal at the time & location was good for both my husband & myself as we were in Townsville for different reasons, so was central to both our needs.
Was a bit noisy, especially the truck at 6.30am & as the building lights shine through into the bedroom, could do with heavy curtains as it feels a bit like daylight, even during the night.
The Manager was great, very helpful on our first night there and very friendly. The location is very central to the city. Hotel is brand new and so are all appliances which is nice.
The hotel is not very clean due to the construction everywhere, meant dust tracked through everywhere. Our rooms were not cleaned at all while there. Not enough towels, blankets, bin liners or toilet paper supplied. The level of noise was noticeable due to construction, railway & room design. No telephone in room. No information folder supplied in room. Room/bathroom proportions are quite small for 2nd room. Dishwasher was missing parts.
The room was wonderful, and I understand that it will soon have Austarnet and internet facilities. I would have enjoyed spending more time to enjoy the pool and spa area, but unfortunately did not have the opportunity, although it looked very nice.
I found the bed very hard, and therefore had a very stiff back both mornings. I also found that even with the blind down in the bedroom there was quite alot of light coming in around the edges. A curtain would alleviate this issue.
liked location, great pool, quiet,
The cleanliness of the hotel was good but only because the apartments were brand new. Shame it was on a building site though.
There was no clear sign outside on the road to direct you in,and very poorly lit,it was on a building site, with work still going on,also near main train station.Staff very vague, didn't know what to do when we signed out, so just left key in room, nobody around, managers did not answer phone.Pool had no sun shade,it was situated on the roof, not sun smart.NOT Value for money, Not suited for kids.Very disapponted from description on web.You also need a car to get anywhere, nothing close leisure/food facilities.Totally dissappointing.
